‘Precious Meat’ is a fantasy short story about maintaining one’s true identity, regardless of what changes around us. ‘Fantasy’ in this case simply means I made up the creatures who act in this story and the world they live in. There are no fairies. This story was first published by ‘Beneath Ceaseless Skies,’ an online magazine in both e-publication and podcast under my former name, Catherine S. Perdue.
